What's your style

Take the style test.....you know I love these things
Let me know what style you are or "tag" you're it.....
blog some pics that show your style

Here's my style~
and pictures that I ♥

Cottage Chic

If you find yourself loving garden themes and shabby chic décor, you are a cottage chick. You love the romantic look of white distressed furniture and pastel patterns. You want your home to give off a charming vibe, and you can accomplish this by adding antique touches to rooms such as old books, a tea set, and wicker rocking chair. The goal here is to bring the outdoors indoors with a cozy, feminine feel.

I love these pillows, but I must admit....I hate making the bed with all those pillows....but I do it with a smile!

I'm really lovin' green these days....go figure.

I'm fickle...I love, country and cottage and shabby and french country so my house is just a mish mosh of all kinds of it.....depending on which room you're in...so really, I don't think I have a style!

I love the mix of fabrics here.....Diane is a pro at putting fabrics together for the cutest furniture ever. Check her stuff out here. Be sure to look for her sunflower sofa, so cute!

It's all about the Pumpkin!

Doesn't this just look like the YUMMIEST pumpkin bread you've ever seen?
Can't find where I found the recipe,
but it was out there in BLOGLAND somewhere, so if it was yours, let me know so I can give you credit....but in the meantime....let's just make some and take it to your neighbors, or VT ladies or HT families.
YUMMY!

Pumpkin Bread

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 tablespoon vanilla
3 eggs
1 can(15 oz) Libby's 100% Pure Pumpkin(not pumpkin pie filling)
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup buttermilk
1/2 to 1 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
Preheat the oven to 350.
Lightly grease TWO 8 x 3 3/4 x 2 pans (those disposable foil ones at the store)
Cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla
Add the eggs, one at a time.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet, alternating with the buttermilk, starting and ending with the flour.
Fold in the pumpkin and toasted walnuts.
Equally pour into the pans and top with crumb mixture (recipe below).
Bake for 50-60 minutes, until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

CRUMB TOPPING

1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
1/2 cup oatmeal (1 package of instant oatmeal)
1/2 cup walnuts

In a medium bowl, combine 1st five ingredients with a pastry blender or 2 forks, so it resembles, well "crumbles".
Mix in oatmeal and walnuts

Today was one of those days!
Didn't leave the house
We had Stake Conference
I didn't go
I stayed home and whined all day long!
Now, maybe I'll be ready to start the week tomorrow
I'm still not sure, though!
Have you ever had one of those days?

What was I thinking..............

I was looking at some of my favorite blogs today and there is one I especially ♥.........she lives in Missouri or Mississippi or somewhere they actually have seasons. Anyhow, she was decorating for fall and talkin' about the drizzle of the rain, how she had on her warm socks and comfy jammies and was cooking hot soup for dinner just to take the chill off.
I decided I wanted to start some fall decorating. I started on the front porch and stripped the spring flowers out of the plant of the bench and decided I needed to plant some sunflowers. I took the green topiaries away from the windows by the door and took the yellow summer wreath off the door.

How do you like the sunflowers as the beginning of the fall decorations and the spring flowers that are still going strong.
Now, I'm dying! Sweating like no other and wondering if it will ever feel like fall here. It's 100 stinkin' degrees outside and I had to come in and sit in front of the fan and crank the A/C down.

But, I wanted to share with you some fun fall ideas:

I found this yummy recipe I thought I'd try for Home Evening for Monday night.....reminds me of a 50~50 bar
I'll make it for our guests and for SweetiePie
but not me.....
too may carbs.....
unless you think it's carb free!
Hey, what do you think?

Poke Cake~

1 box white cake mix

1 cup orange soda (any brand)

1 3.12-ounce box vanilla instant pudding

1 1/2 cups milk

1 8-ounce tub whipped topping

Bake cake according to package instructions in a 9-by-13-inch pan. When cool, poke holes all through the top of the cake with a butter knife or fork. Pour orange soda evenly over the top. MIx pudding and milk together until well blended. Fold in whipped topping until smooth. Spread pudding mixture over cake and store in the refrigerator until serving time.
