1. Being a Mom is not for sissys!!
2. Every once in a while all of your kids are doing OK at the same time....whew~~
3. Never take for granted that they aren't listening to you......because they are and are following your example.......good and bad
4. Don't ever give up~those little hellions actually grow up to make you proud and give back more than you ever gave to them
5. You think mothering will get easier as they grow up, but (not really)
6. You really do have to have the bad to appreciate the good
7. Being a grandma is the best thing in the whole wide world!!!
   
8. Those little kids, now grown up, can put their arms around you and make you feel like the fight you fought for them was all worth while
9. Luckily, they don't remember all your mistakes
10. Your kids, love you, no matter what! And for this I am GRATEFUL!!

Growing up as a young girl I had the best DAD in the world, still do! My Dad would always whistle and sing. He could hardly carry a tune but he would sing as if he could. He was a hard worker. I can remember when my Dad would ride his bike to work so Mom could have the car. My Dad never spanked me! NEVER!! Not that I was that good, but my Dad had a way of talking to you, kind of like an interview with the Bishop, so when you were bad, you knew you had an interview with Dad. I would have rather had a spankin' than an interview. I never wanted to disappoint him! He loved me and I knew it, always! He is a kind, big hearted man.

Here's a story by "Susan Branch" that really touched me and I wanted to share it with you.

My dad was 23 when I was born, I'm the first of his 8 children. We are both a lot older now, but I'm still his baby. A couple of years ago I was on the train, almost to Galesburg, talking to him on my cell -- he was in Arizona. Cell service from the train is spotty, and the reception started going bad; he couldn't hear me anymore. I could hear him fine; he was saying, "Sue, I can't hear you, Sue? Sue! I'm losing you. I'm LOSING you . . ." I felt helpless with the phone in my hand; I could hear him and was doing that frantic cell thing, "Dad! Dad, can you hear me?" -- and even though I knew we were just talking about a phone call, the "losing you" felt so sad, I had tears in my eyes, I wanted to say, "you're not losing me, here I am, I'm right here; you'll never lose me."

I got another package in the mail today.....what a SURPRISE!! A package from my Aunt Nel...................for no reason, just cuz she's so dang cool. An apron from "APRONS BECOME YOU" called "Summer Jam Session". You can't tell from the distance but the pattern is a bunch of jam and jelly jars......so cute........and it's reversable! Love it, love it, love it and you too NEL!!

The mailman bringith gifts!!!

The doorbell rang yesterday afternoon and when I went to the door no one was there. I looked around and saw the mailman driving away. So, I looked down on the porch and there to my surprise was a package. I hurried and opened it as the return address said it was from the Turley kids in Illinois.....yipee!!! Happy Mother's Day from Kevin, Laura, Elizabeth, Miriam and Anna.

They also sent chocolate chip cookies, but I couldn't include them in the picture because they are in Grandpa's tummy!! Yum, yum he said......"Me like cookies". I think he's the Cookie Monster, what do you think?

Thanks for the nice surprise and starting my Mother's Day off in a big way!!

I need your help.........

My daughter, TeriAnne, isn't feeling too good these days. There's not a lot I can do for her, she goes for a root canal tomorrow and she's had a toothache for days. I'm taking dinner to her family tomorrow night, but I can't decide what the heck to fix. Any ideas. Here's a few I'm considering:

• Sloppy Joe's
• Goulosh - you know macaroni, hamburger, tomato sauce, cheese
• Stroganoff
  
• Chicken something or another

Any other suggestions? Remember she has 2 little boys, 6 and 9 and I work all day, so I have to put something together when I get home or put something in the crock pot before I go to work.

Let me hear what you'd fix if you were me and hey....let me know what your fixin' for dinner for your fam!

................this beautiful lady will be the mother of my grandchild. Meet Meghan, Sean's wife. Isn't she beautiful, both inside and out. TeriAnne did her makeup and hair and Sean, TeriAnne's hubby did the photos. What a trio, huh?
Now Meghan, I'm not suggesting you hurry with the grand kid thing, I know your have your cancer issue and all.....I was just thinking what beautiful kids you will have, however, they certainly will be in good company with the others!
