A bitter sweet weekend..............

Paula is more like my sister than my cousin. We had many fun, fond memories over the years and I don't get to see her often enough, but when we see each other again, we can pick up right where we left off.



We left for Moapa, NV on Friday evening at 5:00. We arrived in Vegas Fri. at midnight after driving around in circles. The freeways of Las Vegas were under construction. It took us forever to get to our hotel......the GPS told us to turn at the next exit and that exit was closed. We went round and round. Finally, we made it, whew.....what a trip.

Then this morning (Sat) we drove to Moapa for the funeral of my sweet cousin Lena. What a wonderful reunion we had, seeing cousins and family we hadn't seen in years. So sad we only see some of these special people when we gather for a funeral.

On our way home we stopped at Hoover Dam for lunch. James, Nel and Char decided to take a helicopter ride. Aren't they brave! I waited in the car. You weren't going to catch me going over that damn dam in any helicopter!! NO WAY!! They had a blast and I had a blast just watching them have a blast.

Our ride home was unbelievable. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my whole life. James and Hoke can tell stories like no other and James was full of them. Hoke, you should have been there to defend yourself cuz he told story after story about you....and we laughed til I thought I'd have to pull of the road. What a wonderful way to end such a sad day. You three make me smile.....no, you make me laugh, hard!
